SUMMARY:BTB 221 - Teaching Intermediate and Advanced Students
DESCRIPTION:This is a TPRS online workshop conducted in English.\n6 hours of training: 3 hours a day for 2 days from 9:00am – 12:00pm Pacific time or 12:00pm-3:00pm Eastern.   \nPresenter: Blaine Ray \nDescription: With the new TPRS®\, students are getting to the Intermediate and Advanced speaking levels sooner than ever\, but the TPRS recipe isn’t working the same with Intermediate or Advanced Students. It can be frustrating to see these students process language so fast but how do you get them to Intermediate High and beyond using the TPRS recipe? In this workshop\, Blaine will share his latest practical strategies that work with intermediate and advanced students like those he has worked with for over 300 hours. The workshop will focus on creatively planning lessons for optimal student engagement. It will include a demo of Blaine teaching his high achieving students. This training is appropriate for ideas for how to teach advanced levels as well. Blaine will share his strategies for engagement and will answer the following questions: \n     * How can I enhance engagement by quantifying and specifying details?\n     * How does Describe the Situation impact my pacing?\n     * What are my linguistic goals with advanced students?\n     * How can I get students to defend and expand on their opinions and ideas? \nCome join Blaine as he shows you how to help students reach higher proficiency levels than ever before! \nTime: August 13-14\, 2026 from 9am-12 pm Pacific time with Q&A after each session. \nAgenda: \n\nTPRS Foundational Principles\nThe Mindset of a Communicator\nThe IMPROV Big Picture\nThe 13 Improv Rules\nFixed Story vs Improvised Story\nGames and Practices\n\nAll participants will receive a certificate of completion with the number of hours completed (3 hours per day).
